A national client identifier (NCI) is a unique numeric or alphanumeric code that identifies individuals who trade with financial institutions like Capital.com.

How can I find my national client identifier (NCI)?
The format and location of your NCI depends on the issuing country. In the UK, your NCI is your national insurance number (NINo). You can find this on your payslips, P60s, or official HMRC letters.

Why does Capital.com need to verify my nationality?
As a European-based broker, we’re required to comply with MiFIR regulations, which mandate the reporting of trades involving shares and other market-listed instruments. The NCI plays a key role in meeting these regulatory requirements.

How do I provide my NCI to Capital.com?
You’ll be asked for your NCI when you sign up to Capital.com. If you need to update any personal details, you can do this by contacting our support team via live chat or by emailing us at support@capital.com.
